Listen. You probably won’t even read this. I know it. You know. Science knows it. On average, we spend 7.8 seconds reading news articles. That’s how long it takes to say the popular “Silence of the Lambs” line: A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti. (Insert weird sucking sound he made here, that adds another second).
Not sure why I went with that line, but you get the point. We’re just not that into reading. We scrape the surface and then drop off after we get the headline: Nancy Pelosi Wreaking Havoc in Taiwan; China Big Mad 😤 And we move on to the next headline.
MemeCast plans to help our declining attention span while still keeping you informed, and paid. We are changing the typical front page newspaper story.
How will it work?
You simply hop on the app, sync your wallet, and begin creating memes and reporting news. Every upload will need to categorized by topic: 24/7 News, Culture, Tech. All images MUST be original and MUST include a news brief description. Think of it as a caption.
Mint and capture your audience, one clever meme at a time.
“You want me to report news with a MEME?” You ask.
This is your original photograph and artwork that will make a news statement. Your image can become a highly sought after image that features breaking news, historic events, sport moments, and entertainment experiences.
(Merriam-Webster)
Gone are the days when people collected physical front page stories and commemorative magazines (It’s me, I’m ‘people.’ I have a few front pages I’ve saved). We are transitioning into a more digital friendly world and the Web3 space is changing how and what we collect.
The great thing about blockchain and NFTs is that your image will always be traced back to you as the original creator and you can set your royalties to continue earning when there is a secondary transaction of your NFT meme.
So, where are we at?
Currently, our team is working on the app. We are in the planning and design stage. We launched our social media accounts two weeks ago and are beginning our outreach initiatives to NFT artists. The app will be built on the Tezos Blockchain. More on why we selected Tezos in our next update.
Stay tuned!
